Demo Derby adds to show that includes Motorcycles, local classes

(Montgomery, AL) -- Mother Nature took the win this past Saturday night, March 23 at Montgomery Motor Speedway. With the races being cancelled due to the severe weather in the area, track officials have added to an already thrilling lineup for their next event on April 6.

The FourStar Freightliner Demolition Derby, which was previously scheduled for March 23, has been rescheduled for April 6, and will just add to the show that already includes the Southern Motorcycle Asphalt Racing Series, the Super Stock/Truck, Street Stock, Mini Modified, and Buzz divisions.

The Motorcycles will be in action at MMS again. These daredevils race in excess of 100mph around the Montgomery half-mile. Davo Majzun was the winner last time out, and looks to repeat his previous success, despite having some off-the-track misfortune recently.

"I just had a nasty auto accident that totaled my truck and trailer last Friday night." commented Majzun, of Milton, FL. "My D&D Cycles Aprilia SXV550 was not involved. Just being alive and unharmed and getting to make any race, let alone at my favorite track and being able to compete is such a God given blessing!"

The Motorcycles had a strong showing a few weeks ago at South Alabama Speedway, with John Cohorn taking victories in both races of the weekend, and Van Rayburn following for second, with Majzun in third.

This time at Montgomery, the heat race will be just as important to the Motorcycle competitors, as they will be racing 6 laps for their Da$h 4 Ca$h in the heat race, paying $100 to winner. Later on in the evening, they will return for their 15 lap feature.

The Demolition Derby has also gained quite a bit of interest from competitors, with 8-10 expected to put on a show for the Montgomery Motor Speedway fans. The Demolition Derby will cap off a fun-filled night on April 6, which also happens to be Kid's Night at MMS.

Children ages 12 and under will be admitted FREE to this event with a paid adult (max 2 free children/paid adult).  Adult ticket prices are just $10, and seniors and military will be admitted for $8.

If that's not enough, children are invited to bring their bicycles and have a chance to race on the track during intermission. Winners in each of 5 different age groups will get prizes!

The grandstand gates are set to open at 5:00pm, with qualifying and Motorcycle Heat Races slated for 6:00pm. The green flag drops for feature racing promptly at 7:00pm.
